For many of us, auto insurance is the first type of insurance that we become aware of and that we end up purchasing. Many a high-schooler has squirreled away earnings from summer jobs and after-school odd jobs to save enough for a car, only to be shocked to hear that they need to pay for car insurance too. However, eventually we learn to accept that auto insurance will be a part of our lives for as long as we plan on driving. At the age of 16, driving around on any old car is still a symbol of “coolness” and a rite of passage. Since most 16-year-olds are not driving around in cars worth more than a summer of low-paying wages, extensive car insurance is not usually necessary. As we age though, our cars become more expensive and as our families expand, we add more drivers to our policies. Insurance becomes much more complicated than it was when we were 16.

Luckily, BIA Insurance Agency offers many types of auto insurance, regardless of whether you are 16 and driving a beat up Ford truck, or if you are a parent of three, with two family cars and five legal drivers to worry about. We have the auto insurance policy that is right for you; the right about of coverage at the right price.

No matter your age, driving experience, or what type of car you have, accidents can happen. Auto insurance helps to defer the costs of both damage to your vehicle, damage to others’ vehicles, and medical costs. Any auto insurance plan offers coverage for the following. First, there is bodily injury liability coverage, which covers bodily injury or death results from an accident for which you are at fault. Property damage liability coverage covers damage that you inflict on someone else’s property with your car. Medical payments, no-fault injury, or personal injury coverage covers medical expenses for you and passengers in your car, incurred as a result of an accident regardless of fault. Uninsured and underinsured motorist coverage covers injuries and property damage that you sustain if you are involved in a hit-and-run accident or if you are hit by someone who does not have insurance or who has insufficient insurance. Comprehensive covers damage that occurs to your car due to theft, vandalism, flood, fire, and other perils. Collision covers damage to your car when it hits or is hit by another object. Some insurance plans also offer optional rental reimbursement, mechanical breakdown, or roadside assistance insurance.

For example, let’s say that you are involved in a car accident. You are driving, and have one person as your passenger, when you rear-end the car in front of you. You are found at fault. Your bodily liability insurance covers the medical bills of the person in the car you hit. Your medical payments/personal injury insurance covers the medical bills of your passenger and yourself. Your property damage liability insurance covers damage done to the other person’s car. Collision covers damage done to your car. Many different combinations of coverage for all of these options are available, though some states and some leasing or financing companies may require minimum amounts of insurance for certain options.

Here at BIA Insurance Agency, we offer a wide variety of personal auto insurance coverage options for you and for your family.
